Okay so I have to let you all hear a little story about our little China girl. Sometimes it is hard for her to remember what things are called. So sometimes she will ask for something and we have no idea what she is talking about and it's like detective work to figure it out. Well, this past Sunday was no exception! We are always rushing around to get out the door by 8:20 to drive into Fresno for our 9:00 church service on Sundays so we always have the kids grab something quickly that they can eat in the car on the way in. So this Sunday Mark asked Kennedi what she wanted for breakfast and she said "cherry road". He said "cherry road?" and she said "yes, cherry road!" Usually then she has to take you by the hand and show you what she is talking about and so she did and took Mark right to the Cheerios! She said "I don't remember what it called". We laughed about that the whole day! So cute!
Last week also began swim practice for Katelyn and Bradley for their first year on the Kerman Kickers (Kerman's summer swim team). I was so worried Bradley wouldn't be able to do it and almost didn't sign him up for it but he gets out there and works hard and swims away. He's not great by all means, but he's out there trying! Katelyn is the one I thought would be loving it and swimming away but there are mostly returning swimmers at her age and so she feels like she can't do it, like she's the slowest one. The first night she swam one lap and got out. The second night she swam a lap and got out again. This night I was there so I talked to her and figured out what was going on then took her over to the coach and he talked her into giving it some time and got her back into the pool. Friday night she tried to get out again but I made her stay in. She cried a couple of times saying she couldn't do it but she stayed in the whole time and kept going. I think that if she gets it out of her head that she can't do it, she'll really enjoy it. We'll just keep trying and see how it goes.
Friday I also had coffee with a friend from church who is on the staff there. She really feels God putting it on her heart to start an orphans ministry at church so we have been discussing this possibility for awhile. So this last Friday she asked me to head it up because she has no experience with adoption or orphans. Soooo..... I said yes, with her help, I'd do it. We tried to get a support group going over a year ago and it didn't go over as well as we thought so I am so nervous to try this again. I really want it to go over really well and become really huge for Northpointe. Just think of how many children we could possibly find homes for or help with the things they need! Please just keep this and us in your prayers!
This weekend is Easter. Last Easter we were in China and hunted Easter eggs in the hotel room so this is Kennedi's first real Easter egg hunt! Saturday we are going to church for their huge hunt and the Sunday to my mom's. Should be fun! I'll post some pictures after the weekend. Hoping you all have a very blessed Easter weekend!
